The Greek heart-throb has been a top star in Greece and Cyprus for several years, and fans from the London Greek community were looking forward to joining with Eurovision Song Contest fans from the UK to welcome him to the United Kingdom next month.

The star finished third at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest in Instanbul with the song Shake It and is tipped to represent Greece again in the future. He hosted the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest along side American born Greek, Maria Menounos.
